This week has been relatively clam in terms of tasks. It feels like we're approaching the end of our art direction phase at last, with many of our members doing whiteboxing work in Maya. There have also been more additions to the storyboard, from both myself and Anna who wanted to add a small scene of her own, and some surfacing proof-of-concept from Logan with animated textures. It'll be great to start up a solid workflow once we have all the elements sorted out.

As for myself, the time spent working on this project has mainly been focused on the storyboard and the spreadsheet. I feel that these elements are two of the most important for making sure everyone's on the same page, especially considering the problems that the Prickly Hill Surgeons had with the PJ's assignment, so I want them to be as polished and understandable as possible. In particular, I'm excited by the prospect of using Nuke to influence the storyboard, updating the statuses of each shot in real time as the task list gets running. Also, since I know you'll be reading this Jeremy, how does Tuesday the 7th at 3:15 sound? Shoot me an email.

But another thing that's been exciting me is the potential for a Summer internship. I've been looking into getting a career experience at Dreamworks, specifically as a character effects position. I'm not intimate with the process of fx - in fact I've never opened Houdini before - but the internship welcomes new learners and it'll be a great opportunity. This is especially noteworthy considering that the rest of my team doesn't have much fx skill either. I'm optimistic, but in case I don't get in, I'll have other opportunities to learn.
