BATHROOM STALL GALACTICA
About
Riley Dennis is a 3D Animation student, studying at CU Denver's College of Arts and Media. As part of the DAC program, the final assignment is a senior thesis group project: a 4-minute fully produced animated short. The production process for this short is set to take two years, including writing, pre-production, and conceptual phases. He and his classmates began with the foundational step of writing a story to tell, develop, and set the framework for the project. This website serves as a documentation of his and his team's process for developing their animated short "Bathroom Stall Galactica!"

Synopsis
A man in a remote farm in the state of Nebraska really needs to go to the bathroom. He waits for his turn to use an outdoor bathhouse but before he can get in, he is suddenly abducted by aliens. Once on board their UFO, he delays their testing in order to go to the bathroom, but soon comes to the realization that he has no idea how to operate an alien toilet, and must learn the complicated and unintuitive steps by trial and error. Hijinx ensues.

Whiteboxing
Whiteboxing is a process that places objects in a scene relative to object positions in the storyboard. Basically a visualization of how shots will be composed in 3D. The entire group worked hard on this step. Below are the screenshots captured by me, set within the alien bathroom.
