After meeting up, the team split up different responsibilities between each other - with a heavy focus on concept art and designs - in preparation for the first Project Peer Review. With color pallets and character designs in mind, I was tasked with revamping the storyboard, including facial expressions, more details, color, and music. The above video is the prototype for the intro.

In class, we discussed many different design elements for the UFO, including the abduction bay and the operating room. All seems to be going well on that front, with Logan providing some awesome architecture to look at for reference material. However, I can't shake some feeling that we are focusing too much on unessential elements. Many of the discussions were had over choices in design that appear very little in scale. Worse still, a lot of these decisions were also left unconclusive, which isn't a good sign when building towards a point of understanding before making assets in two weeks. This could be chalked up to the nature of the short; the main setpiece for the story is in a simple room with an unclear list of assets, and with many of the people in our team being invested in modeling, we've wandered towards the more artistic settings instead. The hallway between rooms has garnered more discussion than the titular bathroom and its contents. We have so many ideas and so little space to put them in.

I haven't found a solution for this yet, and I am unsure about how the team will take the information. And as the writer that contrived the scenario for the short, I can't help but feel responsible even though I know I couldn't have foreseen these issues. However, I am too early into this project to withdrawal, and I am confident that my teammates are in the same boat. For now, I'll wait to see if we can resolve these issues naturally, but I fear I may have to be the bigger man. At a certain point, we must all confront the reality of our task, and while it has a reputation for being an obstacle, it has the potential to push us forward.
