Shot production has officially begun! Logan's work in Nuke studio and Unreal Engine is starting to pay off as we move into the creation steps for the pipeline. He posted a video on Discord for the team to watch featuring the entire process for making individual shots, rendering them in UE5, and comping them in Nuke. We assigned shots in the first scene across the team so that everyone can contribute. We aim to get the gas station scene finished for the Production Pass next week, which also happens to be the Friday before Halloween!

Out of the four shots I asked to produce, two have been fully rendered, including the shot seen above in which our main character furiously knocks on the bathroom door. The pipeline steps are manageable, but not without a few loose screws. The gizmo import for onscreen text in Nuke seems to be having some issues, some coordination is required for the team to be working in a single Unreal Engine project, and we still aren't using an up-to-date version of the MC. But ultimately, it's a matter of getting used to it and adapting to the inevitable changes later down the line. Overall though, I think this is the point where production will really speed up for us, and I'm still as excited as ever to get into the animation phase!
